Participants will learn about the marketing aspects of taking your product or service
global. Export documentation, controls, pricing, logistics, and detail export marketing
will be covered. Participants will also learn about some valuable marketing tools used
to be successful in a foreign market.

In this session participants will be introduced to the industry of Ex/Im Banking including
financing, pro forma invoices, prices and quotations. The Export Ready Program will
be discussed as well as where to find available resources to help their business take
advantage of globalization. Participants will also hear from successful local companies
on the advantages of going global and how it has impacted their businesses. There will
be a question and answer session for participants.

Williams Companies Donates to Rowan Smart Start

Williams Companies, Inc. owners, Dr. Richard and Elaine Williams, donated $5,000
to Smart Start Rowan on Thursday, July 6, 2006. The donation will support
ongoing dental health and educational programs at the center.
Smart Start Rowan Chairwoman, Mary Ponds, Vice-Chairman, Richard Perkins,
Executive Director, Karen Campbell, and Planning and Evaluation Coordinator,
Amy Brown, presented the Williams’ with a plaque for their generous support.
Afterward, the Williams’ led the group on a tour of the business.
“Rowan County has welcomed our family and business into the community, the
least we can do is give back to the community through funding Smart Start’s
programs in which benefit the children and ultimately our area’s future,” said Dr.
Williams.
Rowan Partnership for Children and Smart Start is a public-private organization
that provides child care, health and family support services for families with
children between birth through 5 years old. The organization strives to guarantee
the entire community will support its families to ensure that every child grows up in
a healthy, safe, supportive, nurturing environment with dreams encouraged and
individuality valued.
